Greggo Show is a No-Go (March 2010)

Posted in Uncategorized by wolferadio11 on March 1, 2010

I have been putting this off, hoping that last minute something would give, but it didn’t.   Bottom line, Greggo wants more money that I am willing to offer at this time. I thought we had a deal, but it seems that we don’t. I have no ill feelings towards Gregg Williams, just dissapointed that he and I could not agree on the terms I believed we had ironed out in the beginning.

To those of you that submitted audition tapes, possibly all is not lost….Just hold tight (don’t hold your breath though) just hold tight…it’s ironic how sometimes how situations like this have a way of working themselves out.

Again, I am very sorry that we didn’t hit the air today as promised with the Greggo Show, and finding his new sidekick. Greg and I had a meeting on this topic late Friday afternoon, and we couldn’t have been any further apart from getting a deal done. I can tell you, however, that the terms that I offered to Greg upon inception of this project, are the same today as they were day one, and will still be on the table in the same form until further notice.

Gregg is a great radio talent, he has the ability to again be a top rated host in whatever market he decides to engage in.  I’ll go into more details of my take on this situation from 7-7:30AM this upcoming Saturday Morning on 97.1 The Eagle.   www.johnclaywolfe.com

    I’ll ditto that!

Greg was good during baseball season but other than that, he sucked. Too bad he fell in love with cocaine!

Greg…time for you to find another line of work or maybe you need be the “sidekick”.

Are you kidding? Greggo should pay YOU just to get his foot back in the door in this market. Face it, he still hasn’t figured out that HE is the problem!

Word!! Greg Williams is not entertaining! I am so beaten by him. The Hardline is soooo much better since his arse is gone! I have done any and all amounts of drugs and partying AND STILL PERFORMED AT MY JOB! Nut up and keep your commitments to people and quit hiding in the bathroom doing blow!!!

    Mr. Wolf,
Aligning yourself with this complete idiot would only cost you money and reputation. What a blessing in diguise that you and Greggo couldnt come to an agreement. Greggo is still trashed constantly. Drugs and alcohol are his 2 best freinds. Sadly, i predict a funeral before another stint as a radio host.

That’s not the question. Do you like your job?

Hambonito is done, brootha. He can’t stay off of the cocaine long enough to run with a full time gig. He was nearly incoherant on BD Hunter’s show, and I just don’t see him being able to handle it anymore. He probably knows he can’t handle it, and that’s why he can’t take this gig… That wasn’t the question… Do you like your cocaine more than your career?

A great radio talent, What. I don’t think he would like the gig anyway. Stay high, I mean hard.

The Hardline stinks without 2003 Greggo. Corby throws more stuff against the wall than Migs, just hoping something will stick.

Greggo…Greggo… Are you kidding me…please don’t do it….I’m actually begging you not to…I couldn’t take even listening to the next station over if he were on the air…and I love KSCS…please don’t do it!

Hey lets give greggo a break man. He once ruled the airwaves everyday at 3pm with the old wolf. The man is sick, he has an addiction if you are or where a big fan of his you should support him. Dont rag the guy man. Pray for him only God can get him out of this funk that he is in.

@JNA: You’re mama is a snowblower, I’m a used/new car ‘buyer’ there is a difference. Not alot, but enough to argue 🙂

    • JNA said, on March 2, 2010 at 11:43 PM

      Cool.

I wanna trade my used momma in for a new snowblower. What’s the interest and down payment and how soon do I have to start providing the “blow” for the co-host?

Since we’re talking money here and all…

    His fall from greatness continues.

    Hubris, it’s what’s for breakfast.

  30. Joe Mamma said, on March 3, 2010 at 11:35 AM

addiction is not a disease. Hambo said it himself. when you call that a disease, you slap the face of every kid with cancer. No one chooses to get cancer. Greggo chose to be a junkie. He continues to chose to be a junkie. I wish he would change his ways, but its all up to him.

    • rdeebee said, on March 28, 2010 at 7:08 PM

You couldn’t be more wrong Joe Mamma. Greggo chose to use, not to be an addict. At some point after he started using he lost the choice. If these stories are true, his brain will not allow him NOT to use anymore. The only thing he has a choice about is if he will seek treatment or not. He will suffer from the disease of addiction the rest of his life. With treatment he can hopefully find a way to put his disease in a sort of remission, but he will never be able to use cocaine, alcohol, any any other brain-chemistry altering substance without putting himself right back at square one. We should all pray that he finds the will to seek the help he needs.

Having said that, Corby Rocks! & The Hardline Rules!

  31. Robert said, on March 3, 2010 at 11:44 AM

Greggo at his peak was a sidekick. He was always terrible when he had to host. Now even having him as a sidekick is a questionable decision. Loved Greggo back in the day, but he’s been done for a long time.

  32. Charles Says said, on March 3, 2010 at 4:46 PM

I am real sorry for the situation as I am sure Greggo is. I thought he did a servisable job at the Hard Line. I hope he can get “strait”. I thought he was a good/great feature in the AM Sports talk local area.

  33. jay77 said, on March 3, 2010 at 5:16 PM

Man, lay off the guy and his addiction. And I couldnt stand his opinions… but wow… he was inadvertant comedy gold! Wish him well, but mostly for his health, than his career prospects.

Is Greggo serious? How many chances does he have left?

Very sad to hear this. Very sad, I want him to get better even if he’s never on the radio again. Man, drugs suck. He’s lucky he was rich(?) already.

I love Greggo and hope he is becoming more trustworthy. I was looking forward to his Saturday “what..um..do you like this” gig. That said, if you listened to the little Ticket only for the Hammer, you’re a douche and “if you don’t like it, just listen to someone else.”

  42. The Anus said, on March 8, 2010 at 11:18 PM

also, Corby Davidson is my leader. Chris, you’re a dill…

  43. Frustrated said, on March 9, 2010 at 4:59 PM

    A couple of thoughts…
To Robert the Reaper – If you don’t like the current version of the Hardline, then don’t listen brutha! You may not like to hear this, but Corby really is a radio talent. He brings energy & fun to that show. It may not float your boat, but a show with just Rhyner would be BORING. Mike needs some kind of sidekick to make it interesting.

As for Greggo, I miss him on the Hardline too. Those were good days on the radio. But even I could tell that Greg wasn’t bringing much toward the end. It’s sad, and I just hope he turns his life around. Those that like to jump on him while he’s down…that’s just sad. I hope no one ever treats you in such a manner.

I’ve changed my mind about JCW. I now why why he sounded so poor on the radio and frankly so would I given no formal training. Now after reading about this misadventure with Greggo,to JCW I apologize, you took your best shot. It looks like fool was him. Too bad, you had a great idea.

  47. ObservationMan said, on March 14, 2010 at 1:03 PM

What I find most amusing in the Great Greggo scene is that the softline continually drops the guys name. Why would they continue to do so when they are so done with him?

I’ve got a news flash for ya Wolfe….probably the best thing that happened to you was him flaking out before your venture got off the ground. He’s not that big of a star. That show would have tanked with him. Its not like people are sitting around on pins and needles waiting for his triumphant return. No one cares about Greg freakin’ Williams. It was the Hardline as a whole that’s the big deal. All he was good for was the occasional drop he provided.
